Electricity flows regardless of how a wire is bent. Data, however, consists of delicate, high-frequency signals. If a Cat6 cable is pulled too hard, kinked around a corner, or zip-tied too tightly, the internal geometry is crushed. In Ontario, if a network cable is run through a drop ceiling or raised floor that is used for air circulation (a plenum space), the Ontario Building Code legally requires FT6 (Plenum-rated) cable. What you need to know before signing a cabling contract.

Always ask these three things:
1. "Are you using pure Solid Bare Copper or CCA?" (CCA stands for Copper-Clad Aluminum. It is a cheap, fragile knockoff cable that cannot properly support PoE (Power over Ethernet) for cameras and phones. Alphian uses 100% Solid Copper).
2. "Will you provide Fluke certification reports?" (Testing proves the cable handles the speed it promises).
3. "Do you provide a labeled floor plan?" (You need to know where drop #42 actually goes).
